My
Story
Andrea Heath invites you into her world, providing viewers a glimpse of a larger story with each work. Heath explores the use of materials of all kinds, from the traditional fine art mediums and the preschool craft of melted crayon drawing, to repurposing what's been discarded. Heath has learned that nearly anything can be used to craft a visually compelling piece that is oftentimes even beautiful.

MY WORK

MELTED CRAYON
This medium was introduced to me when I worked as a preschool teacher while obtaining my BFA. Years later, I introduced melted crayon to my own young art students and found myself drawn to the richness of the colors and so began my education in trying to control this material which has a will of its own.

PAINTING
Building my own stretcher bar and stretching the canvas is the beginning of the painting process. The canvas is then primed multiple times before any painting begins. I prefer to work large scale and have decided that for me, no wall is too big.
COLLAGE
Multimedia collage allows my imagination to explore all kinds of materials and now, experiment with the construction of interactive art. I am currently working on collages that allow viewers to interact with moving parts within each work. More to come.

PASTEL
Pastel is a traditional medium and is still a favorite of mine. The rich color and ease of layering them allows for vibrant expressionistic story telling.
